Description: The department of Chicana/o Studies at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Chicana/o Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Specifically, the Department seeks candidates whose specialization is in Education. We seek candidates who have an active record working with and/or conducting research on culturally and linguistically diverse student populations, such as in K–12 schools with large Chicana/o/Latina/o/Indigenous/ immigrant enrollments. Candidates will have a record of teaching in K–12 educational settings, with at least three years of experience in K–12 classrooms. We seek candidates who approach teaching, scholarship, and research through an interdisciplinary and intersectional lens, with a critical ethnic studies approach/perspective.

The successful candidate will teach Chicana/o/Latina/o/Indigenous education courses, including undergraduate and graduate courses on the Chicana/o/Latina/o child and adolescent; equity and diversity; heritage language; language acquisition and learning; educational theories in schooling; as well as education courses in the Chicana/o Studies Social Science Subject Matter Program, Ethnic Studies Certificate-Chicana/o Studies program, and the Chicana/o Studies MA Program.
